[trans] Jung Il Woo – Jung Yunho, There can be no other guy-guy chemistry like this
Actors Jung Il Woo and Jung Yunho have caused the small screens to turn heartwarming with their special guy-guy chemistry.
As the 2-top casting of the both of them gathered alot of anticipation before the drama’s first broadcast, there was also concern at the same time. Although Jung Il Woo had achieved not bad ratings results with his weekend drama “Golden Rainbow”, these were also untested aspects as to whether such success will be able to have an influence on a Monday-Tuesday drama. In Jung Yunho’s case, everybody’s curiosity was piqued as to whether he would be able to display more mature acting abilities compared to his previous production, “Yawang”. However, Jung Il Woo and Jung Yunho both displayed their stable skills and received passing results for their acting and compared to anything else, the unexpected chemistry shown by the both of them added to the pleasure of watching the drama.

The person displaying his vigour together with Jung Il Woo was Jung Yunho. Jung Yunho appeared through the role of Moo Seok, the elite military officer who possessed the best swordsmanship skills in Joseon. As a character who regards the loyalty between the King and his officials as his very first creed, Moo Seok developed a relationship with Lee Rin whereby they shared genuine / sincere friendship after he received Gisangun’s orders to keep tabs on Lee Rin. While acting out Moo Seok, who had a faithful and upright personality, he also focused on the acting of the internal side of Moo Seok, who had a painful past of losting his mother and younger sister. In particular, Jung Yunho displayed flowing, elegant swordsmanship acting, capturing even the viewers’ attention.

Compared to anything else, the extraordinary guy-guy chemistry of the both of them lent great assistance (to the drama). The both of them, who had faced off staunchly against each other in the first half of the drama, came to realize each other’s upright beliefs and even formed the night watchmen group. The detailed process of how Lee Rin and Moo Seok slowly built up their friendship was important. Jung Il Woo and Jung Yunho acted out the appearances of how Lee Rin and Moo Seok, both of whom had been imprisoned by their past trauma, understood and soothed each other’s wounds, and grew as people, touching the hearts of the viewers. In the 10th episode broadcast on September 2, the appearances of Lee Rin and Moo Seok sleeping soundly under one blanket just like real blood brothers also put smiles on the viewers’ faces.
From the second half of the drama, perhaps it was because “Journal of Night Watchmen” left room for criticism with the show setting, the persuasion power of which had decreased, and the impractical plot development, the drama received relatively positive affirmative evaluation through the vigour of both actors, and was able to be wrapped up nicely. Through this drama as an opportunity, Jung Il Woo came to firmly put his stamp on his status as a lead actor, and Jung Yunho was seen with an improved appearance as an actor. To the extent that the both of them safely concluded the process of their respectively needed tests through the use of “Journal of Night Watchmen”, it makes one greatly anticipate what kind of vigour / activities they will show in their next productions.
