Korea Food For the Hungry International revealed on September 3 that TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho’s international fans donated 24 tons of rice to help out the welfare facilities in Korea.
The donation was made by U-Know Yunho’s fans from around the world, who sent the rice wreaths in order to show support for his new drama, MBC’s The Night Watchman’s Journal. Out of the 32 tons of rice sent by the fans, 24 tons have been donated to Korea Food For the Hungry International. Fans from 24 countries participated, including Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Peru, Qatar, Mauritius and more.
The donated rice will be sent over to 45 welfare facilities around 10 areas, including U-Know Yunho’s hometown Gwangju as well as Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gangwon, Busan and more, helping out those in need, including senior citizens who live alone, handicapped people and families with dealing with economic hardship.

According to an affiliate of the drama, “32 tons of rice, including the amount that has been donated to Korea Food For the Hungry International, is the largest amount of rice donated by fans since the star Dreame rice wreath event launched in 2007.”
