[TRANS] 윤제균 감독 “배우 정윤호 가능성 발견, 감독으로서 가장 기쁘다”
The director Yoon Je-Kyoon revealed his affection for TVXQ’s Jung Yunho.
In an interview with OBS Plus at a cafe in SamChungDong prior to the opening of the recent film ‘International Market’, Yoon Je-Kyoon said,”I am most pleased that I have found the possibility of Jung Yunho as an actor.”
He said,”There are two things that made me most pleased when I faced / looked at the actors as a director in ‘International Market’”.
One is the fact that the actor Jung Yunho, who had been devalued until recently, received praise from many people through ‘International Market’.
Then he explained,”Nam Jin’s role isn’t much but he is an important figure as a life-saver in DukSoo’s life ( played by Hwang JungMin), not just a cameo. That’s why I paid a great deal of attention in casting for the role. The casting criteria were clear. I wished the person would be a singer at the top and be able to speak with perfect jeolla dialect. There were no other choices but idols in order to meet the criteria and who are in mid 20s”.
He also told the story behind casting Jung Yunho by saying,”To tell the truth, I had a stereotype view toward idols. The people around me recommended Jung Yunho a lot, so I met him first. And I fell in love with his humanity / nature. He was so superb as a human being. He also had passion in acting. I didn’t feel the need for agonizing and therefore cancelled the other meeting arrangements with other idols. Yunho also showed his passion at 100% on the set”.
And he showed his satisfaction by saying,”The people that saw the film gave a round of applause and said that they saw Jung Yunho for the first time in the role that fits him well. It was really worth it to hear the evaluation that it was the best role for the human being, Jung Yunho and the actor, Jung Yunho, loosened up instead of acting high”.
Finally, Yoon Je-Kyoon added,”I have a lot less prejudice against idols thanks to Jung Yunho. So I am willing to cast with an open mind if the role fits and there is passion. I was reluctant in the past due to the prejudice but it is completely open now”.
Meanwhile, ‘International Market’, a story about our father that lived strongly only for his family during the tough times, will be open on 17th.
