[Trans] 141209 The Director Yoon Je-Kyoon of ‘International Market’ Talks about Yunho in Cine21 (Weekly Magazine)

[TRANS] Cine21(weekly magazine) on Yunho.

What is the behind story for Yunho to act as Nam Jin?

“When you want to talk about a singer, it is Na HoonAh. Nam Jin looks like a girl. For the looks and the voice, Na HoonAh is better.” ( —> this is a line from the movie ‘International Market’ Its official name is ‘Ode to Father’.)
DukSoo is a fan of Nam Jin in Pusan where 9 out 10 people like Na HoonAh more than Nam Jin.
It is because DukSoo has a memory with Nam Jin when he was a dispatched worker in Vietnam.
In reality, Nam Jin participated in the Vietnam war as a marine from 1969 to 1971.
In the movie, it was recreated as DukSoo meeting Nam Jin in 1975 in Vietnam.
“OMG, my popularity doesn’t really care whether it is in the war zone or not.” ( this is what Nam Jin (♥Yunho♥) said in the movie.)
The fact UKnow Yunho acting as Nam Jin is as much surprising as the sudden appearance of Nam Jin with a delightful accent ( in the movie).
The directer Yoon Je-Kyoon ( http://bit.ly/12q5t8o ) said he wished for an Idol singer with good looks as Nam Jin was an icon, along with Na HoonAh, at the time in the music industry who generated / drove an army of fans for their oppa wherever he went.
He explained it was UKnow Yunho who satisfied the condition.
Thanks to UKnow Yunho’s appearance ( in the movie), the production team got to experience the power of an Idol singer for the first time.
“After arriving in Bangkok, 40 vehicles, with fans inside, followed us all the way to the hotel. When we were back at the hotel from filming for the day, we couldn’t even sleep because the fans of Yunho in neighboring rooms sang TVXQ songs all night long. ( laughs)”, said the director, Yoon Je-Kyoon.
