the news up here aren’t official statement from SM, and it’s most likely that the discharge day is to be confirmed later when it is due.
regarding your question, to be honest I’m not sure about this.
when you look up news on k-pop idols enlistment they mostly say it like this “training for five weeks followed up by 21 months,” which makes it seem as if they are two separate things. However, when you pick an artist (like Super Junior’s Leeteuk or Rain) who has served as an active-duty soldier for 21 months, and when you calculate the months from the day of enlistment to that of discharge, it seems they are exactly 21 months, as if the 5 weeks are included in the 21 months period.
